Description
Inderal tablets contain propranolol, a beta-blocker medication.
Uses of Inderal tablets:
- Decreasing anxiety and relieving tremors.
- Preventing migraines and high blood pressure-related stomach bleeding.
- Treating angina (chest pain) and hypertension.
- Managing abnormal heart rhythms and increasing survival chances after a heart attack.
Dosage instructions:
Take as directed by the doctor, usually 2 to 4 times a day.
For hypertension: Initial dose is typically 40mg taken twice daily.
For angina: Total daily dose of 80mg to 320mg, taken 2 to 4 times a day.
For atrial fibrillation: Recommended dose is 10mg to 30mg, 3 to 4 times a day.
For myocardial infarction: Recommended dose is 40mg, with titration to 60mg after 1 month. Daily dosage is 180mg to 240mg.
Possible side effects:
- Lightheadedness, dizziness, tiredness, and trouble sleeping.
- Changes in heart rate (bradycardia, arrhythmia, or tachycardia).
- Unusual dreams, stomach pain, nausea or vomiting, and vision changes.
Precautions:
- Take the medicine consistently, with or without food.
- Do not crush or chew the tablets.
