How it works
Myrin-P tablet kills actively growing tubercle bacilli by inhibiting the biosynthesis of mycolic acids which are major components of the cell wall of M. tuberculosis.
What are the adverse effects of Myrin-P tablet?
RIFAMPICIN:ÂHeartburn, epigastric distress, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrheas’, sore mouth. Rash, pruritus, urticaria. Eosinophilia, thrombocytopenia. Muscular weakness, pain in extremities. Visual disturbances, hemoglobinuria, hematuria. Menstrual disturbances.
ISONIAZID:ÂPeripheral neuropathy. Nausea, vomiting epigastric distress. Elevated SGOT, SGPT, SGOPT.
ETHAMBUTOL:ÂOptic neuritis (related to dose and duration of treatment). Anaphylactoid reactions. Anorexia, nausea vomiting abdominal distress. Fever, malaise headache dizziness. Elevated serum uric acid level.
PYRAZINAMIDE:ÂHepatitis which can be minimized by dosage adjustment.
